A protector of human rights Justice V R Krishna Iyer.
We got independence under the leadership of our father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi. After independence we struggled for freedom of speech and expression, right to life and liberty and other fundamental rights. The provisions of our Constitution were made for a common man but they have not been utilised in the manner in which our forefathers intended to implement. The period of 1973 to 1980 will be remembered as a golden period in the history of our constitution, when Justice Krishna Iyer was in the Supreme Court of India. He interpreted our fundamental rights for a common man.Worked for the protection of human and fundamental rights and defined the judicial system for the down trodden. He emphasised the human rights with the letter and spirit of the sentiments of the provisions of our constitution. His lifetime achievements and dedication to the common man should be rewarded to the people of India and he should be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.VIKRAM PUROHIT ADVOCATE,Rajasthan High Court,Jodhpur.
